Heaven gained an angel. Mary Shirleen Lindsey, 73, died peacefully at home on May 5, 2021, with her daughter by her side.
Shirleen was born June 12, 1947 in Eastman, GA to Tennyson and Carleen Stevens. She lived the majority of her life in Savannah, GA, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Burnette Lindsey. A graduate of Herschel V. Jenkins High School, Shirleen spent most of her career in healthcare, working at Saint Joseph's Hospital and Southcoast Medical Group. She was a breast cancer survivor and she enjoyed her many dogs, manicures and spending time with family.
She is survived by her daughter, Yvette (Gene) Warnock, of Guyton; her brother, Jim (Linda) Stevens of Pooler; six nieces and nephews; several grand-nieces and nephews; and her granddog, Tali.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. with burial at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family extends a sincere thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Comfort Keepers and Hospice Savannah, Inc.
